He runs a disability related website <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thelimpingphilosopher.wordpress.com\"><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">\u2018The Limping Philosopher\u2019<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> and you can find him on Twitter: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Peckitt\"><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">@Peckitt<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">We do not presume to speak for or represent disabled people living in Japan (and in Tsukui Yamayuri En specifically). We cannot possibly imagine what they are going through right now.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">We can<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight:400;\">collectively <\/span><b>share<\/b><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> our pain and <\/span><b>show<\/b><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> solidarity and support to \u00a0disability communities in Japan. We can <\/span><b>talk <\/b><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">about the lack of media coverage and overall attention paid to this mass killing rooted in hate.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">While everyone is welcome, this online vigil will be centered on the voices and lives of disabled people, especially disabled people of color who have been so impacted.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">There will be discussions of violence, ableism, murder, and death. He was a tutor at Hull University from 2003-2006 and is since May 2012 is an Honorary Research Associate attached to the Philosophy Department. \u00a0Until October 2013 he was an Honorary Visiting Researcher at the University of Tokyo. Currently, s<\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">he is the Founder and Project Coordinator for the<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/disabilityvisibilityproject.com\"> <span style=\"font-weight:400;\">Disability Visibility Project<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> (DVP), a community partnership with<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/storycorps.org\"> <span style=\"font-weight:400;\">StoryCorps<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> and an online community dedicated to recording, amplifying, and sharing disability stories and culture. Currently she is a co-partner with Andrew Pulrang and Gregg Beratan for #CripTheVote, a <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/disabilitythinking.com\/faqs\"><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">non-partisan online campaign<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> encouraging the political participation of people with disabilities.
