For this Twitter chat we are delighted to have Sam de Leve and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deafpoetssociety.com\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">The Deaf Poets Society<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> as our guest hosts. From their website:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left:60px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deafpoetssociety.com\/about\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">The Deaf Poets Society<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> is an online literary journal that publishes poetry, prose, cross-genre work, reviews of Deaf or disability-focused books, interviews\/miscellany, and art by D\/deaf and\/or disabled writers and artists. Founded in 2016, our mission is to provide a venue for D\/deaf and disability literature and art, as well as to connect readers with established and emerging talent in the field.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">This chat will focus on the process of creating a special issue by <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">The Deaf Poets Society<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">, \u201cCrips in Space,\u201d a collection of speculative fiction by d\/Deaf and disabled writers. Last year Guest Editor <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChaiKovsky\"><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">Sam de Leve<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> tweeted about disabled people in space with the hashtag #CripsInSpace and the idea took off online. Guest Editor <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/disabilityvisibilityproject.com\/about\/\"><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">Alice Wong<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> shared the idea and suggested a collaboration with the The Deaf Poets Society focused on science fiction, fantasy, and crip futurism.
