{"id":222146,"date":"2017-10-10T16:21:26","date_gmt":"2017-10-10T23:21:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/disabilityvisibilityproject.com\/?p=222146"},"modified":"2026-02-12T17:22:10","modified_gmt":"2026-02-13T01:22:10","slug":"vr-platyesting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/disabilityvisibilityproject.com\/2017\/10\/10\/vr-platyesting\/","title":{"rendered":"Virtual Reality Playtesting: People with Disabilities in San Francisco Bay Area"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are you interested in testing a new virtual reality experience? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Disability Visibility Project\u00ae is organizing a series of virtual reality playtests with people with disabilities in the San Francisco Bay Area on <strong>Tuesday, October 17, 2017, 10 am-4 pm<\/strong>, at the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrobertscampus.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ed Roberts Campus<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Berkeley, CA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are testing certain accessibility features and looking for participants who identify in any of these three groups:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Wheelchair users<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-People with limited hand or arm mobility who can stand<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-People who are Deaf or hard of hearing<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Important details:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participants will playtest an unannounced VR experience on HTC Vive and answer some questions about their experiences afterward. The entire session will take approximately 1 hour.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prior familiarity with VR and the HTC Vive is not required.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All participants will receive a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">$100 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">gift card at the end of the session.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All participants will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are interested, fill out <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLScuqZjWjQ-RbbuIRg7gRkNC5bDvGXqchQqPps1dkDpbWtkTSQ\/viewform\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">this short survey<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and a researcher will contact you if you are eligible.
