In partnership with the Disability Organizing (DO) Network<\/a>, the Disability Visibility Project\u00ae will host a Twitter chat on solidarity as a form of love. We are thrilled to have writer\/activist Mia Mingus<\/a>\u00a0as our guest host who will join this conversation on how the disability community can be in solidarity with other movements and what we love about the communities we are a part of.<\/span><\/p>\n

We will reference a recent talk Mia Mingus gave at the <\/span>2018 Disability and Intersectionality Summit<\/span><\/a>\u00a0titled,\u00a0<\/span>Disability Justice is Simply Another Term for\u00a0Love<\/a><\/p>\n

The California Foundation for Independent Living Center<\/strong> (<\/span>CFILC<\/span><\/a>)<\/span> facilitates the <\/span>Disability Organizing (DO) Network<\/b>, a statewide disability advocacy network of 28 Independent Living Centers and the communities they serve. In each center there is a full time staff person devoted to increasing civic participation through community organizing, education and advocacy around issues that affect the Disability Communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mia Mingus<\/b> is a writer, educator and community organizer for disability justice and transformative justice. She is a queer physically disabled korean transracial and transnational adoptee raised in the Caribbean. She works for community, interdependency and home for all of us, not just some of us, and longs for a world where disabled children can live free of violence, with dignity and love. As her work for liberation evolves and deepens, her roots remain firmly planted in ending sexual violence. <\/span><\/p>\n
