All people are welcome to participate especially disabled performers such as poets, comedians, musicians, artists, and writers. We will talk about how venues and events can serve both disabled performers and audiences better.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>About<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On March 3, 2016, <\/span><b>Gaelynn Lea<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was named the winner of NPR Music\u2019s second-ever<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/2016\/03\/03\/469034857\/meet-gaelynn-lea-the-2016-tiny-desk-contest-winner\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tiny Desk Contest<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The video entry of her original song \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/jb1oCjiIu9M\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Someday We\u2019ll Linger in the Sun<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d rose to the top of over 6,100 submissions from around the nation, chosen as the unanimous favorite among the contest\u2019s six judges. The very next week, Gaelynn performed a moving<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/2016\/03\/10\/469966998\/gaelynn-lea-tiny-desk-concert\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tiny Desk Concert<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, at which the show\u2019s host Bob Boilen said \u201cthere was hardly a dry eye.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gaelynn Lea\u2019s musical reach has expanded significantly because of the Tiny Desk Contest. She began touring nationally in September 2016 with her husband Paul in their 2002 Ford Econline \u2013 and they\u2019ve been on the road ever since! Gaelynn has a congenital disability called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, or Brittle Bones Disease.
